Wonder Woman: Wonderfully Simple and Fun
Wonder Woman kicks some bad DC movie stereotypes butt
Picture: Syfy Wire
DC movies have always been lackluster compared to Marvel films. They are often too over the top and their last two movies, Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad left audiences with more questions and confusion. That is until they bought the Blu-Ray which features EXTENDED CUTS that tries to help to fill up those plot holes and confusion.
Wonder Woman on the other hand is DC’s best effort at a movie since the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy. The action is there and the soundtrack is brilliant. However, the biggest surprise is how simple the whole story is and how the plot holes are minimized. Yes, a straightforward DC movie and that is the simplicity of it. It can be enjoyed by anyone who has never read any of the comics. Also, Gal Gadot nails every scene beautifully and the chemistry between her Wonder Woman and Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor is fun to watch. The humor here is not forced too and comes out naturally unlike most DC films.
It has its fair share of various moments of action, character development and drama. The one thing I find irritated is the usage of cut editing in the film which sometimes kills the moment and ruins an epic scene.
At last, DC has finally stepped up their game in delivering their films compared to the wide array and publicly favoured Marvel Movies. After many tries from DC, it’s safe and naive to say that DC has learned their mistakes with Wonder Woman. A well-made, feminine empowering film that can be enjoyed with your family of all ages and a good introduction of Wonder Woman to the silver screen.
