It isn’t unusual for students to get stressed out after just passing through their first month of the semester. Wonder what the Mass Communication Club has to say about this? … Chill Out!

On 19th September 2017, the Mass Communication Club held a gathering night which they called as ‘CHILLOUT NIGHT’ with Hipster as the theme. The event was held in SB-08 (Service Building) from 7pm to 10pm.

The organizing chairperson of the event, Hunter Foong said, “This is probably the first gathering night where we try to emphasize the theme Hipster and also chill bonding among ourselves.”

Although there were students who were very excited with the initial venue of the event at the Rooftop above student station (which was replaced due to the bad weather condition), the decorations and lighting in SB-08 did not fail to give students the exact hype. The wonderful night started off with a short and simple speech from one of the Mass Communication lecturers, Mr Roberto Calleja.

The room filled with joy as the thrilling games enlightened everyone by making them closer to one another. Even though most of them did not know each other, the games definitely made the awkwardness in the room disappear. One of the games was “Pictionary”, followed by “Guess The Song”.

After the games possibly draining everyone’s energy out, students were served foods, drinks and also cupcakes (which was claimed to be the best).

Music definitely brought everyone together when Erickson Martinez, Adrian Tiga, Ahmad Saif and The Idol 2016 semi-finalist, Joyce Chan performed on stage with all their hearts and souls out. The highlight of the performances would be Erickson Martinez’s overwhelming cover of ‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee feat Justin Bieber. Everyone in the crowd started singing along with him which created a cheerful atmosphere in the room.

The event came to an end at 10pm with a group photo session among students as well as the committees of the event.
